A Little History...
Amber and her husband Matt moved here over 5 years ago and are proud to call themselves Auburnites. Matt grew up in San Jose and has been visiting Auburn and surrounding areas since he was 3 years old. Amber grew up in Texas and after graduating from Texas A&M University moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. Amber and Matt married soon after Matt graduated from Arizona State University. Matt's parents retired and moved to Auburn in 1997, and shortly thereafter Matt and Amber returned home to California.


Biographies

Amber Hazen, Owner
Amber earned her Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M University and has worked in the corporate world in management, marketing, business development, human resources, accounting and consulting. Working in this day and age is STRESSFUL and more and more people are realizing the benefit of the day spa. A true patron of the day spa, Amber decided to create a place for others to relax and be pampered at Amber Waves Salon and Spa.

As a result Amber is proud to be a small business owner in Historic Downtown Auburn offering exceptional services at reasonable prices. She truly believes in total body health, i.e. skin care, and massage therapy, professional grade products, exercise, and a healthy diet. Jessamyn Funk, Esthetician
Jessamyn brings you her expertise from the historic resort city of Charleston, South Carolina. She graduated from The International School of Skin Care in Atlanta, GA with One-thousand hours of advanced skin care training. She has worked in Day Spas, as well as Laser Centers specializing in laser hair removal, vein therapy, microdermabrasion, and glycolic peels. Clearly, Jessamyn's experience enables her to perform aggressive treatments on problem skin or totally relax even the most tense of clients. A meticulous waxing expert, she makes sure you leave Amber Waves Salon & Spa without a hair to tweeze! Aundrea Hannigan, Stylist
Aundrea is a great listener and she doesn't try to convince you of something you don't want! She has great ideas and suggestions, but will ultimately give you the cut and color you ask for. She is a Placer County native and is the sweetest person you will ever meet. Aundrea specializes in cuts, color, highlights, eyebrow arching and more. ATTENTION MEN … Amber Waves Salon & Spa is NOT just for women! Aundrea specialized in men's cuts, fades, color, and product selection to get you the look you want. Joy Darr, Massage Therapist
Joy is a California native, raised in Grass Valley, now residing in Auburn. She is the proud mother of 2 boys. Joy did her massage therapy training at the Phillips School of Massage in Nevada City with over 600 hours of classroom and hands-on instruction. Drawing upon bodywork technique styles such as: Swedish, Circulatory, Deep Tissue, Energy Balancing, Reflexology, Shiatsu and Acupressure, she can tailor a session to meet your individual needs.
